Thames Water has awarded a multi-million pound AMP7 contract for security services - the contract had an estimated £31.2 million value when it first went out to tender.

Scope of the contract covers the provision of security services across approximately 30 of the water company’s sites, including static site guarding, CCTV, and mobile response. The contract is predominantly for static guarding, with mobile patrols required on a determined rota.
In addition Thames Water also requires support for access controls and general security requirements for corporate sites, alarm monitoring and ID card management.
The contract, which has been awarded to Gloucester-headquartered firm Securitas Security Services (UK) Ltd, will be for an initial term of 5 years, with options to extend annually up to a maximum overall term of 8 years
The supplier will be required to provide a comprehensive security service that offers appropriate assistance and protection for the Thames Water estate and work in line with the utility’s own security processes and industry best standards.
Ultimate responsibility for security policy, process and security risk assessments will remain with the water company.
